Lately I’ve been exploring why it is that women start far fewer tech startups than men, and in my search for answers, I came across this talk by Mary Lou Jepsen at the google/Anita Borg women in tech summit.
Mary Lou Jepsen? She has a Ph.D in optics, has built some of the largest displays the world, and left her work making incredibly-high-end HDTV displays, to CTO the OLPC project. Now she has a startup (Pixel Qi) making (again) the best displays in the world.
I really dig this 5 minute note (starts at 5:07). Highlights include — what it’s like to experimentally take testosterone, and some observations on how, why, and when to negotiate.
